Recording Tips

The single biggest factor in analysis accuracy is your footage. Follow these tips to give the AI a clean, full-court view — and get sharper player tracking, shot detection and heatmaps.

The five things that matter most

Nail these and everything else falls into place.

📐

Elevated angle

Mount the camera high — behind the baseline, looking slightly down the court. A raised, end-on view tracks players and the ball far better than a courtside one.

🔲

Whole court in frame

Keep all four court corners visible for the entire clip. If players or lines drift out of frame, tracking and heatmaps suffer.

🧍

Steady & level

Use a tripod or a fixed mount. A shaky or panning camera makes the AI work far harder — a locked-off shot is ideal.

☀️

Even lighting

Avoid strong backlight and harsh shadows. Don't shoot straight into the sun or bright windows — even, diffuse light is best.

🎞️

Good resolution

Record landscape at 1080p or higher, 30fps+. Higher resolution lets the AI resolve the ball and players even at distance.

Quick setup before you hit record

Position behind the baseline

Center the camera on the net line, a few feet back from the baseline, raised as high as you safely can.

Frame all four corners

Check the preview — you should see the entire court with a little margin around the outside.

Lock it down

Secure the tripod, disable auto-pan, and set the phone to landscape. Then start recording before the first serve.

Recording FAQ

Can I use my phone?
Absolutely — a modern phone at 1080p on a simple tripod produces great results. The angle and stability matter more than the device.
What if I can't get up high?
Even a fence-clip or a raised bag at head height helps. The higher and more end-on the view, the better the tracking.
How long should clips be?
Whole matches are fine. If you only want specific games, record continuous segments rather than lots of tiny clips.
Does lighting really matter that much?
Yes. Backlighting turns players into silhouettes and hides the ball. Shoot with the light behind the camera whenever you can.

Filmed a good match?

Upload it and let the AI run the film session. Great footage in means sharp analysis out.
